We're full swing into the fall sports season... which often means more body breakouts. Not to worry, though. There are things you can to to control body acne too.

Until next week,

~ Angela

What Is Acne Mechanica?
It's the sweat and friction (say from helmets, pads, and other gear) that really ramps up breakouts during your sports season. These types of breakouts even have a special name: acne mechanica.

Treating Body Acne
Either way, you can treat those body breakouts. First, make sure to shower as soon as you can after sweating. Second, start using an acne medication to treat body acne.

About Acne: Summer Is Over, Do I Still Need a Sunscreen?

Skin Care

From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

As the seasons change, I tend to make a few changes to my skin care routine: a slightly more emollient moisturizer, a less astringent toner. One thing I don't change is the sunscreen, though. Here's why.

No matter what, though, keep up with your treatments!

~ Angela

Summer Is Over; Do I Still Need a Sunscreen?
So, when the weather is cool, is using sunscreen really that important? It can be.

Why Do I Need a Sunscreen At All?
Maybe you're not using a sunscreen at all. I understand; I didn't use one regularly for years. But I am starting to regret that decision now. (And if you're using certain acne medications, you definitely need some SPF!)

How To Choose a Sunscreen That Won't Break You Out
It's scary to apply a new product to your skin, not knowing if it will break you out. Sunscreens have come a long way. You can get a SPF product that won't aggravate your acne.

Product Review: Cetaphil DermaControl Moisturizer and SPF 30
You don't need an extra sunscreen product anyway. Plenty of moisturizers have SPF, too, like this product from Cetaphil. (Bonus -- it's a great price.)
