From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

There are so many topical treatments available to treat acne. Ready to learn how to make sense of them all?

Keep using your treatments this week!

~ Angela

Over-the-Counter Treatment Options
OTC can be effective in the case of mild acne or blackheads. But the results you get are dependent on choosing the right products and using them the right way.

Topical Retinoids
If OTC products just aren't cutting it, don't get too disappointed. Prescription medications might be just what you need. Topical retinoids are some of the most common (and effective) acne medications available.

Topical Antibiotics
Topical antibiotics are another good choice, especially for inflamed breakouts. They can be found alone or mixed with other medications for extra-effective treatment.

What Is The Best Treatment?
Options are great, but wouldn't it be better if your dermatologist or skin care pro (or me, for that matter) could just tell you which treatment is the best? Unfortunately, the answer isn't that easy.

Skin Care

From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

One key element of acne treatment is exfoliation. Regularly exfoliating your skin helps keeps those pores clear, stopping breakouts before they have a chance to form.

Adding exfoliation into your daily skin care routine is important -- but you may already be exfoliating daily already without even knowing it.

Keep using your treatments this week.

~ Angela

What Is Exfoliation?
You may have heard the term, but what exactly is exfoliation? And why does it help clear up acne?

Are Scrubs Helping or Hurting Your Skin?
I know when I think "exfoliation" I always think "scrubs." But scrubs may be doing more harm than good. Find out why.

What Microdermabrasion Can (and Can't) Do for Your Skin
Scrubs aren't the only way to exfoliate the skin, though. Some professional procedures also fit the bill. Microdermabrasion is one of the most popular.

Retin-A Micro
But you don't have to head to a salon for exfoliation treatments. Many typical acne treatments exfoliate as well. Retin-A Micro is just one of them.
