From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

Everyone's acne is different.  What works for one person won't work for the next.

But by understanding your skin, and your acne triggers, you can personalize a treatment that is perfect for you.  This week's newsletter will help show you how.

Angela

Treatment Help for Teens

Nearly every teenager will deal with breakouts to some degree.  (Think your classmates have naturally pimple-free skin?  Not likely -- they're probably already using an acne treatment.)  These tips will help teens ages 13 to 19.

For younger preteens, you'll want to check out these helpful tips for tweens 8 to 12.

Treatment Help for Adults

Not everyone with acne is a teenager.  In fact, a huge percentage of adults have acne too.

Of course, skin types and treatment options vary between the sexes, so men will want to also take a look at this article.  Ladies, this piece is for you.

Treating Comedonal Acne

The type of acne you have also determines the treatment that will be most effective.  If you mainly have bumpy skin, blackheads, and non-inflamed blemishes, you have what's called comedonal acne.

Is your acne more inflamed?  Then you'll need the info found in these articles: Treating Moderate Acne and Treating Severe Acne.

Back and Body Acne
And no matter what your age, body acne can also be an issue.  The breakouts you get on your back and body are often treated differently than those on your face.

From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

I know -- treating acne is a major lesson in frustration.  But there are some pretty good treatments out there.  The trick is finding the one that works best for your skin.

So, in this week's newsletter, I've amassed a few oft-overlooked acne fighting ingredients for you.  Maybe one of these will do the trick for you?

Angela

Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is one ingredient you must have in your acne treatment arsenal. Best of all, you can easily get it over the counter.

Birth Control Pills
Yep, oral contraceptives can treat acne.  Obviously these aren't meant for the guys, but they can work wonders for us ladies!

Topical Retinoids
I think topical retinoids should be in nearly everybody's acne treatment arsenal.  And not just because they're really effective against breakouts -- they have other skin benefits too.

What Is the Best Acne Treatment?
What is the best acne treatment of all?  The answer isn't all that simple, and here's why.
