From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

My acne wasn't widespread -- it tended to be centralized on my cheeks and jawline. But the breakouts weren't tiny. They were red, inflamed and obvious.

If this sounds like your skin, you probably have moderate acne. My moderate acne cleared up and yours can too, with the right treatment.

Until next week,

~ Angela

From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the holiday season. It's one of my favorite times of year.

But when I'm feeling embarrassed about my skin, it definitely takes a lot of the joy out of the holidays. It's hard to relax and have a good time when you don't want anyone to look at your skin.

I hope these tips will help you treat, conceal, and feel better about your skin.

Happy holidays!

~ Angela

Tips for Great Holiday Skin
I distinctly remember one Christmas, in the midst of a bad breakout, spending all day avoiding cameras and making sure to sit with my "bad side" where others couldn't see as easily. I don't want you to feel the same way, so I hope these tips will help.

How To Conceal Breakouts

I'm a big believer in concealer. If it makes you feel better about yourself, why not? A little bit, strategically applied, can really make you feel more confident. (Guys, you aren't left out either... there are concealing products just for you.)

What a Dermatologist Can Do for Your Skin
Concealing is good for short-term, but we want long-term results. So, give yourself an early holiday present and make an appointment with a dermatologist. Start treatment now, and you can see improvement before the new year!

Never Forget Your Treatments Again!
Even the best treatments won't work if you're not using them consistently. This time of year is super busy, so it makes remembering to use your treatments a chore. Here are a few quick tips to keep your treatment on track.

Skin Care

From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday, simply because it's all about the food. Sometimes, though, what we've eaten gets the blame for our most recent breakout.

What's the real deal? Does what we eat affect our skin? Let's take a look at a few of the most common scapegoats.

~ Angela

Carbohydrates
You may want to hold the rolls and stuffing during your Thanksgiving feast. Some researchers think carbs may trigger breakouts.

Fried Food
Instead of carbs, it's usually fried foods that get the blame. Greasy food makes greasy skin, right? Maybe not.

Chocolate
I have a reason for chocoholics to rejoice. You don't have to avoid those chocolatey holiday treats!

Milk and Dairy Products
And you definitely can't eat a piece of chocolate cake without a glass of milk. But maybe we should eat the chocolate and skip the milk.
