By Amy Morin, LCSW, Editor-in-Chief Top of Mind You can't measure mental strength the same way you measure physical strength. You know when your biceps have grown bigger and you can tell when you're able to lift up heavy objects more easily.
Mental strength is a little different. You may have days and times when you feel incredibly strong. But there will likely be other times when you question if you have enough strength to get through a certain situation.
But just because you don't feel strong in the moment doesn't mean you aren't. It's normal to experience self-doubt, to make mistakes, and to fail to reach your goals.
Fortunately, every time you question how much mental muscle you really have is an opportunity to sharpen your skills.
Even after writing four books on mental strength, I still have plenty of times when I don't feel strong. But I've learned some valuable strategies that can help in those moments. And today, I'm sharing the 10 things I like to do when I don't feel strong.
Doing these things empowers me to be the best version of myself even during those tough times.
