Top 4 Worst Acne Treatments EVER | I've been in the skin care industry for a long while -- practicing, writing, teaching. As such, I think I've heard just about every acne treatment around. Some have been intriguing and sent me running to research them. Others left me bewildered. As in why the heck would you put that on your face?!? So, for this week's newsletter I decided to put together a list of some of my (favorite?) worst treatments ever. Stay tuned because Friday I'm sending out a newsletter with the best acne treatments ever. Make sure you check your inboxes! Angela
#4: Toothpaste | Although this isn't nearly the worst thing you could put on your face, I've included it in my top worst acne treatments list because of how prevalent this one is. While some people use it without a problem, for other people toothpaste can cause some major skin irritation. And it won't keep you from breaking out.
#3: Windex | Anything meant to clean grunge from your windows should never be put on the skin. But you'd be amazed how many people ask me if this actually works on pimples. Where did this idea come from?
#2: Garlic | I literally cringe when I see this "remedy" suggested, oftentimes on reliable websites to boot. Because I have seen what happens to skin when it's been smeared with crushed garlic -- the most horrendous case of contact dermatitis ever.
#1: Urine (AKA Pee) | It doesn't matter if it's someone else's or your own, putting pee on your face is just plain gross. Newsflash: urine isn't sterile.
