From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

Finding an effective acne treatment, to stop pimples before they start, is the key to getting acne under control. Still, spot treating existing blemishes just makes us feel better (and may help them heal faster too.)

If you want to get results from your spot treatments you have to use the right products, the right way. Here's hoping this newsletter will help you do just that!

~ Angela

What Are Spot Treatments?
First off, exactly what am I talking about when I say "spot treatment?" Here's a basic explanation of what spot treatments are and how they work.

Does Tea Tree Oil Work as a Spot Treatment?
Natural remedies are often recommended as spot treatments. It doesn't necessarily mean they work, though. What about tea tree oil?

Poll: Have You Tried Using Toothpaste On Your Pimples?
Toothpaste is another product that is touted as an inexpensive spot treatment for pimples. Good idea or no? Have you tried it? Take the poll and find out what I think about using toothpaste on pimples.

Are You Using Your Spot Treatments Correctly?
No matter which spot treatment you choose make sure you're using it correctly, otherwise it could do more harm than good.

From Angela Palmer, your Guide to Acne

I love trying out new skin care products and if they help my skin to be less blemish-prone, all the better. Read about some of my most recent acne product reviews.

Remember, though, if you're being treated by a dermatologist, get her (or his) OK before trying any new OTC product. They might not work well with what you've been prescribed.

Either way, keep using those treatments this week!

~ Angela

Acne Free Therapeutic Sulfur Mask Review
Sulfur has been one of my favorite OTC blemish treatments for years. So I was really excited to see how this mask worked.

Clean and Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent Review
Here's another bargain product -- this time an astringent (sometimes called a toner). It contains salicylic acid and is a popular choice with teen girls.

Irish Spring Clear and Fresh Skin Body Wash Review
There are over-the-counter treatment options for body breakouts too. This is a new body wash from Irish Spring that the guys might like. (But, fair warning, body breakouts often need prescription treatment.)

Murad Acne and Aging Skin Care Kit Review
Unlike the previous products, this one is far from a bargain drugstore find. But it is a complete skin care kit (meaning you get a cleanser, moisturizer and treatment gel in one box.) Is it worth the price?
